ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Marie-Louise Strøyberg is a certified E-RYT 500+ yoga and meditation teacher with more than 13 years of teaching experience and over two decades of dedicated personal practice.

Her teaching weaves intelligent vinyasa, breath-led practice, and subtle body awareness — guiding practitioners beyond external form into embodied presence and inner steadiness.

She is the founder of Awaken Retreats and the creator of Awaken Collective, her online yoga platform devoted to breath, nervous system regulation, and integrative movement for modern life.

Originally from Denmark and now based in Sri Lanka, Marie-Louise leads retreats and immersions internationally. Her work is rooted in the understanding that lasting transformation happens through refined awareness — not force — allowing yoga to become a lived and embodied practice both on and off the mat.

LOCATION

Weligama in Sri Lanka is a quaint beach town in the South of Sri Lanka, famed for its sandy beaches, surfing and fishing villages. A short tuk-tuk ride from the beach, through rice paddies strewn with water buffalo, Malabar Hill rises from a cliff top to greet you.

During your leisure, if you would like to relax by the beach, we have a complementary shuttle service that can take you to “The Shack” our beach club in Mirissa.
